Gut Microbiome Signatures in Multiple Sclerosis: A Case-Control Study with Machine Learning and Global Data IntegrationOriginal paper
What was studied?
Faecal microbiota from 29 relapsing-remitting MS patients in exacerbation and 27 controls were sequenced and integrated with 29 published datasets using machine learning. MS patients showed reduced Eubacteriales, Lachnospirales, Oscillospiraceae, Lachnospiraceae, Parasutterella and Faecalibacterium and higher Lachnospiraceae UCG-008. A gradient-boosting classifier distinguished MS microbiomes with an AUC-ROC of 0.95.
